What to tell us when you call
A few details on the first call let us size up the job before we pull into the driveway.
These are the things worth having to hand when you ring.
- What you seeStanding water, soaked carpet, a stain spreading across a ceiling or up a wall, or a floor that has started to buckle.
- Where it isWhich rooms, and whether the water has reached carpet, drywall, cabinets or insulation, since those hold water a mop cannot reach.
- How long it has been wetWater soaks up drywall and into the pad the longer it sits, what the trade calls "wicking", so the wet patch you can see is rarely all of it.
- What kind of water it isClean water from a supply line, "gray water" from a washer or dishwasher, or sewage. Sorting it is called "water classification", and it decides how the water comes out.
- Whether the water is offIf the leak is still running, shutting off the main supply stops it while you wait for us.
